What is Aviation?
Aviation, in its broadest sense, is anything involving the actual operation of aircraft, civil and military, sailplanes, aeroplanes and helicopters, manned and unmanned.
It encompasses all aspects of a normal business including management, finance, insurance, legal, sales & marketing, administration, design, interiors, customer service & catering and such like. On top of that, it extends to the more well-recognised areas including all aspects of flight, engineering and ground operations, air traffic control and support staff.
On the civil side of the industry, in the world today, around 4 billion people fly annually for business and leisure. This is forecast to double to 8 billion in the next twenty years.
On top of that, aviation is already improving its sustainability with the current generation of aircraft between 15% and 40% more fuel efficient than their immediate predecessors. Ambitious targets have been set by airlines and operators worldwide to better this and achieve the lowest possible levels.
On the military side, huge strides in capability are being achieved but we still need the many trade professionals across all areas who protect us and stand ready to defend at any time.
